DSTLLD 2.0: Content Update

Podcast launch and audience changes!

Hey everyone,

If you read the footnote on Monday’s newsletter you knew this was coming. I felt an obligation to make an announcement about the new direction of DSTLLD to give fair warning and not surprise anyone with content that will stop applying to them.

Moving forward topics will aim to be more relevant for young men.

There are a few reasons for this:

  1. Narrowing focus allows me to speak on topics I relate to (this should also produce better content).

  2. There is a current lack of existing role models for young men. While I don’t claim to be an authority here, I believe I have a chance to mentor people who are 1 or 2 steps behind me.

  3. Niching down allows me to focus on a smaller target demographic to provide more value.

This doesn’t mean the topics will become irrelevant for other demographics.

The topics won’t change too drastically. What will change is the language I use to speak to you, the audience. Moving forward I’ll speak to you as if you are a group young men, looking to improve your lives. The lens through which the topic is covered may also shift. ie. Finance content will primarily be directed at younger investors, or relationship content at young couples.

I appreciate all the support you’ve shown me up until now and TOTALLY understand if you choose to unsubscribe or pay less attention to the content.

I started a podcast!

If you missed it on Wednesday, the first episode of The DSTLLD Podcast launched with my good friend Taylor Forbes as the first guest.

The podcasts will come Wednesday mornings, you’ll receive an email when they go live. They’ll also be available on Youtube (in video form), Apple Podcasts, Spotify and almost anywhere else you get your podcasts.
